Joel Ellenbecker joined the leadership team of Krav Maga Worldwide in January 2024 and is spearheading efforts to drive the organization forward. As the Deputy Chief Instructor of the KMW Advocacy Division, Joel focuses on advocating for the needs and interests of Krav Maga practitioners and schools. His passion for community growth fuels his dedication to developing and implementing robust networking and support systems between leadership and licensees.
Based in Neenah, Wisconsin, Ellenbecker is the owner and Chief Instructor of Fortitude Krav Maga. He holds a 2nd degree instructor black belt in Krav Maga, a 5th degree black belt in American Freestyle Karate, a blue belt rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Team Vaghi, and a purple belt rank in Roufusport Kickboxing. Furthermore, he is a certified KMW Civilian Law Enforcement Instructor and an accredited PN1 Nutrition Coach.
Ellenbecker and his team at Fortitude Krav Maga have successfully transformed a modest Krav Maga program, which started with 50 students and 4 part-time instructors renting space from a karate dojo, into an 8,500 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. Located in the heart of their city of 30,000 people, the school now boasts over 300 active members. Ellenbecker's business has flourished to employ 12 staff members, including 4 full-time positions, showcasing his commitment to excellence and community engagement.
