Defenses Using Two Hands on the Defensive Weapon

Defending with both hands on the defensive weapon is a very strong and natural method of defending. It's generally done when the defender has successfully armed himself with an improvised weapon from the zone of danger. This weapon may be heavy, bulky or made of an unwieldy material, such as a wooden chair, a long pole, a fire extinguisher, or a large framed picture. These objects would likely require two hands to be used successfully to defend and counterattack.

This two-hand method also offers the defender a great measure of control and accuracy. However, it tends to be a bit slower and the reach is not as great as with a single-hand grip.
